I believe that even 100 or more years go by, 7th Aug, 2012 will still seem a nightmare for you, for me, for every merciful chinese people, and even for the international friends.
Most of all, for Liu xiang himself.
Like all of the audience who utilized all available electronic device to watch Men's 110m Hurdle Race, I sat right in front of my computer, expecting something amazing would happen to Liu like 2004 the Athens Olympic did. Or at least, I hoped Liu didn't hurt himself.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1…The referee fired the starting gun, then, as fast as a flash of lightning, all the contestants made an extreme rush toward the finish line. It was like nothing in the world could stop them. I, of course, was 100% forcing on Liu, with highest expectation that nobody could imagine. Because eagerly I wanna see Liu reclaim his glory after his failure in 2008. However, not even until Liu made his first hurdle, something HORRIBLE happened!
Perhaps because of the injury in his right limb, Liu fell down on the ground! He fell down on his London debut!
Everyone whether in the scene or not, and including those who knew nothing about Liu were shocked. As if they were going through a terrible disaster on their own, which was quite hard to take in.
For a few seconds, Liu lay on the red track of the London's Olympic Stadium, untangling his limbs and clutching his right leg. Then he began to hop and hop and hop the whole length of the track toward the finish line. Another few hops, and he made it to the last hurdle of Lane No. 4. There, he delivered a kiss to the white-and-purple barrier, a farewell from China's track legend who, it can be safely assumed, will perhaps never enter the Olympic history books again.
I was about to cry my heart out at that very moment. As if I could truly feel his pain, no matter physically or mentally. For holy virgin's sake, it was not Fool's day back then, why would God make such a terribly lousy joke? Screw it!
But this was not over yet. Right after Liu quited the game, came hundreds of thousands of fling abuses that made me tremendously sick in my stomach.
Some would say that Liu fell on the lane on purpose because he already knew that he couldn't get a win, so he just came up with a little trick and quited the game for good reason. While others criticized him that he was just a coward, a loser, a liar who spent a great deal of money but made no contribution to our nation. He lost the whole country's dignity right on the international stage.
Seriously, I didn't know what were those stupid asses thinking. Did Liu ever owe they anything? Did he necessarily have to be responsible for every chinese person ? Or did they offer every tiny help to make sure that he won the championship so that was why they hated him so much when he couldn't pay them back? Oh my holy crap, I don't buy this SHIT! It just doesn't make any FUCKING sense! And guess what? They all are the most stupid asses I've known in my entire life!
Maybe I don't know what exactly is going on behind the screen, but one thing is for sure, that is, every person who has little mercy should at least show some respect to those who brought incredible glories and miracles to us, to our country, therefor, to this whole wide world!
And for Liu, I'll just put some clear concise words here: What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
So, you'll be fine.
We all will be fine.
